Connecting with New York City

Students at Wagner are encouraged to explore the excitement of all that New York City offers. The resources of the City benefit students both academically and socially and help to enlarge students' experiences and broaden their horizons. The Office of Co-Curricular Programming offers trips for students to explore "connections" to New York City and the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. Activities are sponsored outside the classroom to give students opportunities to discover all that the area has to offer. In addition to official trips into the city sponsored by Student Activities, Wagner provides a free shuttle bus which makes stops at the Staten Island Ferry terminal (where students can catch the free Staten Island Ferry to Manhattan). Public transportation around the five boroughs of New York City is extensive and easy to use - a quick and easy way to explore!

Some of the many trips and excursions planned each year for students include the following:

Sights of the City: Greenwich Village, Madison Square Garden, Yankee Stadium, Citi Field, Chelsea Piers, South Street Seaport, Lincoln Center, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

Museums: The Frick Collection, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of the American Indian, Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Natural History, USS Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, Lower East Side Tenement Museum, Historic Richmondtown, Alice Austen House.
