Center For Academic & Career Development

What can I do as a Career Connections mentor?

Career Connections mentors can assist students in developing a realistic appreciation of their career choices, as well as guiding them in how to examine the pros and cons of their targeted profession and understanding the qualifications, skills, strengths, and attributes needed to succeed.

The Center for Academic and Career Development is actively seeking alumni, parents and friends of the college willing to share their insights and expertise with Wagner students. Click here for a list of our upcoming events.

There are many ways mentors can assist, and this multi-faceted program will provide a forum that is right for you. Some of the opportunities to participate in this program include:

  • conduct an informational interview over the phone
  • conduct a "mock interview" in your office or at Wagner
  • participate in a career panel
  • participate in a Student Alumni Networking Reception
  • offering an internship at your organization
  • offer a site visit for an individual students
  • offer a site visit for a group
  • offer a day of "job shadowing"
  • lecture in a class
  • host a breakfast for students and/or recent graduates at your office/company
  • add your idea here!
