Becoming A Peer Tutor...

Who Can Become a Peer Tutor?

Anyone who demonstrates excellence in a particular subject area can be a Peer Tutor. The idea behind Peer Tutoring is students-helping-students, where Wagner's undergraduates can receive free one-on-one academic assistance with their courses.

What Do I Need to Become a Peer Tutor?

  • Excellence in a subject area--recognized and noted by subject area faculty
  • Two (2) recommendation letters from subject area faculty
  • Confirmation/approval from the Director of Peer Tutoring
  • Completed W-4 & I-9 paperwork
  • Completed referral form

What are the Benefits to Being a Peer Tutor?

If you ask those who have taken on the responsibility, being a Peer Tutor is an extremely rewarding experience. Not only do you get to have an on-campus job, but you get the chance to help others while enriching your abilities to teach.

If you are interested, please contact Professor Mary Zanfini (mzanfini@wagner.edu ), the Director of Peer Tutoring.
