Campaign for Wagner College

Message from the Campaign Chairs

Over the last few years, Wagner College has engineered significant enhancements that have earned us a new and enviable position in the landscape of higher education.  As alums and trustees, we have never been so proud of our degrees, and we are pleased to be a part of this special institution.  In just a few words: Wagner has arrived!

Initiated in 1998, our innovative and signature curriculum – the Wagner Plan – is now being emulated by colleges and universities throughout America and abroad. Through the Wagner Plan, students engage in the myriad opportunities afforded by Wagner’s location in New York City, with its profusion of the world’s leading business, governmental, medical, and cultural resources. Wagner links what students learn with how they learn and where they learn.

Wagner has it all: a model curriculum; the unlimited opportunities of New York City; an idyllic campus; and enthusiastic faculty, students, staff and alumni. Now, what is our commitment to take it to the next level? How will we nourish and grow this precious resource to better meet the emerging needs of students, employers and educators? How will we expand our national reputation so that we may continue to attract the human and financial resources necessary to sustain Wagner’s exciting momentum?

A detailed and thoughtful strategic plan, adopted by the Board of Trustees in 2004, establishes a blueprint for our future. Our challenge now is to take this blueprint and build on our legacy of excellence – a legacy that includes the tremendous accomplishment of increasing our endowment of $13 million in 2002 to its present level of $52 million (as of March 2007).

Putting Wagner First: The Campaign for Wagner College” is the way to advance Wagner, to  continue its rapid progress, and to invest in our legacy, thus ensuring a “Future of Distinction” for generations to come. We invite you to join us in shaping and supporting this great venture.

Sincerely, Robert C. O’Brien
