All current housing configurations will be in place for the coming academic year, unless otherwise indicated on the Housing Selection homepage. All rooms and suites must be filled to capacity in order to be assigned during the Housing Selection Process.

Housing Selection Nights
Housing Selection is a process that uses a student’s class standing and a random number to systematically help students select a housing assignment for the coming academic year. All students must be present during his/her night of selection (unless a proxy form has been completed) in order to receive a housing assignment.
Foundation Hall Housing Selection Night: Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 5-7 PM in the Manzulli Board Room in Foundation Hall
Traditional Housing Selection Night: Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 5-9 PM in ManzulliHall
Lottery Numbers
All students participating in Housing Selection will receive a lottery number, with the exception of students who receive a housing assignment during the Themed Community process, Same Room Sign-up, or who receive a Medical Placement will not receive a lottery number.
Once a student is assigned a room, his/her lottery number may not be used again. Students may not trade or transfer their lottery number to any other student participating in the selection process.
Lottery numbers will be assigned to students based on their academic class year. Seniors have 26 units or more, juniors have 17-25 units, and sophomores have 8 – 16 units. Students should check their class standing in WWAM prior to applying for housing. Units will be based on the anticipated accumulation of units achieved by the end of Spring 2012.
Seniors will receive the lowest numbers, followed by juniors, then sophomores. Students with the lowest numbers will be the first students invited to select an assignment.
Students selecting a double room or suite may use the lowest lottery number of the group to select a space. Students who sign up for a single room may only use the number assigned to them.
The Office of Residential Education will post all lottery numbers by the Friday before Housing Selection Night on this website.
Students will be invited to select a room based on the order of their lottery numbers. Numbers will be called in order from lowest to highest. Once a student hears his/her number, s/he must be ready to select a room/suite with every member of his/her group. Students who are not present on the night of Housing Selection must have the appropriate Proxy Form on file.
What to Expect During the Housing Selection Process
Students should begin to arrive outside Guild Hall twenty minutes prior to the start of Housing Selection. Students/groups with low lottery numbers should make sure to arrive early. If a student or group is not present when their lottery number is called, they will be skipped. Students/groups with previously called lottery numbers may bypass the line once they arrive. Residential Education staff members will ask students/groups line up in lottery number order. Students will be called in number order with their roommate or group to select a space.
Groups will have limited time to select a space, so please come prepared with back-up housing options if your first choice is no longer available. If group members are unable to select their intended space and are in need of splitting up their original group, members with higher lottery numbers will be asked to find their place in line until their number is called.
All students must fill their intended housing assignment in order to sign up for a space. Individual rooms may not be co-ed. Residential Education Staff members will be available to help students find other residents to fill spaces during the selection process. Students may not go through the process again and may not change or trade rooms with other students.
Lottery numbers will be posted outside of Guild Hall for those students who do not know or forget their number. Students who have not completed all housing paperwork by 4:30 PM on March 25, 2011 will not receive a lottery number and may not select a room during the Housing Selection Process. Students must bring a current Wagner College I.D. to the Housing Selection Process. We ask for patience and flexibility from students to ensure a smooth selection process. Residential Education staff members will be available to assist with any questions.
