There will be a limited number of apartments available to juniors and seniors at the Grymes Hill Apartments. Each apartment has two bedrooms, which accommodates four (4) students. If you are interested in a coed living arrangements, you have to have two males in one room and two females in the other room. The charge is the regular room and board rate. There will be no premium charge for the 2006-2007 academic year. The meal plan includes 120 blocks as well as $100 flexi-cash per semester.
Each apartment is furnished with residence hall furniture such as beds, dressers, dinette sets, desks and chairs. We do not provide living room furniture. Telephone is not included and must be contracted on your own. Some apartments will have an internet hookup and some do not. Those who do not have internet can contract this on your own as well. Each apartment is allotted $60.00 per month for electricity. Any charge over $60.00 is forwarded to the residents of the apartment. Apartment residents will have their mail sent to their apartments and need to file a change of address form with the Postal Center to forward all mail. Apartment residents do not have on-campus boxes.
The requirements to live in the apartments are the following:
1) You must be a junior or a senior and presently live on-campus.
2) You must have a 2.5 GPA or above and be in good academic standing.
3) There should be no disciplinary issues in the residence halls or anywhere on campus. If there
have been issues, you can discuss this with the Director of Residence Life individually.
4) You are in good financial standing with the College.
Wagner College has the right to withdraw this offer at any time based on the availability of space in the apartments or if any of the above requirements change. Please note, if at any time one of the four students leaves the apartments, it is the responsibility of the remaining students to find another roommate within two weeks or they will be reassigned one. Depending on space availability in the residence halls, students may be asked to move back into the on-campus community if no roommate is found or can be assigned.
How do you apply for the off-campus apartments?
1) Please fill out the housing card, housing contracts, and insurance waiver forms provided and go to the
Business Office to pay your $150.00 deposit. They will stamp your card as proof that you paid.
2) Please fill out the Apartment Selection Application.
3) Each applicant must type a two (2) page essay answering all questions. These questions are located on the
Apartment Selection Application.
4) Staple all of these items together and return the entire packet to the Residence Life Office.
Upon receiving your application, we will verify the information you have provided. Applicants will be chosen and sent an approval letter the week of February 20th. Once applicants are chosen, there will be a lottery/raffle process to determine who gets the apartments with internet wiring and who does not. This apartment lottery process as well as date and location will be detailed in your acceptance letter.
Residents who currently live in the apartments must go through the application process as well and must be approved.
