Office of Residential Education

The mission of the Office of Residential Education at Wagner College is to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive residential community that supports and challenges student growth and development through educational, social, and leadership opportunities.

The Residential Education staff encourages and values group collaboration, the celebration of diversity, rational decision-making, consideration of different viewpoints, and respect for individual dignity.  Success in the classroom is supported through the enforcement of quiet hours, maintaining student lounges as study options, referrals to faculty and staff around campus, our Themed Community program, and activities and resources provided by a well-trained staff. Our staff is available around the clock to provide support to students with medical and personal emergencies or concerns, as well as to ensure the safety of all residential students.

Within the residence halls, students have a variety of opportunities to grow and develop their talents and skills through formal leadership positions such as a Resident Assistant or Desk Attendant and through informal contributions to programs and activities.  Educational, social, and cultural programs are offered each week to spark dialogue and action amongst the student population as well as to respond to student interests and needs.
