63rd Eastern Colleges Science Conference, Spring 2009
Poster Presentation
This page is for any student who is planning to give a poster presentation during the conference. The deadline for online submission of abstracts for all presentations is Monday, March 16, 2009. Each abstract (no more than 1400 characters) must be keyed in carefully during online submission without copying and pasting. Please prepare the abstract carefully before clicking the submit button. To go to the online registration site, please click here . To go to the online abstract submission site, please click here .
No late submissions will be accepted. Once you submit your abstract, it will be given a poster number such as P1, P2, etc. Easels, stick pins, and binder clips will be provided. Presenters are responsible for supplying their own support materials (e.g., foam boards) so that each poster can be displayed on an easel.
Each easel will have a number such as P1, P2, etc. on a 3 x 5 inch index card. When setting up your poster on the easel with the appropriate poster number, please remove the card from the easel and place it in the upper right-hand corner of your poster so that the poster and the card can be easily seen. (If the poster cannot be identified by its poster number, it will not be evaluated.) There will be only one easel per poster. Easels are not to be moved to another location. While each poster may be as large as 4 feet wide by 4 feet high (no larger), a poster size of 4 feet wide by 3 feet high is recommended. Poster monitors will be present in the poster presentation areas, in case you need some assistance.
The conference program will contain information regarding when and where posters will be displayed. Posters must be in place before the poster session begins. Posters displayed late risk not being evaluated. The conference program will also include two poster-presentation periods, one for odd-numbered poster presentations and another for even-numbered presentations. Please be present beside your poster during the appropriate period.
Although it is natural for participants to congregate in the area where others from their institution have a poster, this situation discourages others, including judges, from seeing the poster. Please be aware of this situation, allow people access to posters and traffic to flow.
Please keep your poster on its easel throughout the poster session. Evaluators and judges may want to return to a poster at a time when the presenter is not there, to more clearly evaluate the poster itself.
If you are a student with a question regarding this process, please contact your research mentor. If you are a research mentor with a question, please contact Dr. Donald Stearns at dstearns@wagner.edu.
