I am having a problem in one of my classes. How do I file a grievance? |
Speak with the professor first. If the problem cannot be resolved, submit in writing to the chair of the Department of Education a detailed explanation of why you are grieving the grade with documentary evidence. State the grade received and the grade desired. Emailing the chair with this information will suffice. The chair can then call you in alone or with the faculty member for a meeting to discuss the issue. The chair, in consultation with department faculty, will arrive at a decision. If the decision does not favor the student, s/he can then grieve to the Office of the Provost as the final stage in the process.
