THE CHAIR'S DOZEN
The members of the Dozen will serve as Good Will Ambassadors to assist in various civic minded activities, included but not limited to:
- Recruitment of Students into Education
- Representing the Department at Open Houses and other College/Community Functions
- Forming focus groups to help with program and unit assessment
- Collaborating with school partners
- Advise the Chair on various programmatic and student-related issues

ASCD LEADERSHIP
ASCD and KDP jointly participated in a community service event on October 14, 2007. The two groups formed a combined walk team for the Walk for the Cure JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and represented Wagner College.Both groups are currently holding fundraisers. COUNCIL FOR EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN
CEC is the largest international professional organization dedicated to benefiting and improving the education of exceptional students as well as students with disabilities.
The CEC offers opportunities for professional growth and development, affecting education policies and practices in your community, improving educational outcomes for all children, and careet connections, to name a few
CEC will give you access to cutting edge information through their journal and newsletters, as well as their national and state conferences. This is a great opportunity to be part of an excellent organization.
Kappa Delta Pi is a national honor society in education. It provides an excellent opportunity for leadership and service. We are looking forward to having new undergraduate and graduate members to join. If you are interested in applying for Kappa Delta Pi, please first check if you are eligible.
The qualifications are:
Undergradate candidates must have earned a 3.3 overall GPA.
Graduate candidates must have earned a 3.5 overall GPA.
Candidates must have completed or will complete at least three education courses by the end of the current semester.

OMICRON DELTA KAPPA
Membership in Omicron Delta Kappa is as much an obligation and responsibility in leadership as it is a mark of highest distinction and honor. Membership is awarded to undergraduate junior and senior students; to graduate students; to faculty, staff, administration and alumni; and to persons qualifying for membership "honoris causa." Student membership candidates must rank in the upper 35 percent in scholarship of their school or college and must show leadership in at least one of five areas: scholarship; athletics; campus or community service, social and religious activities, and campus government; journalism, speech, and the mass media; and creative and performing arts. An individual achieving distinction in his or her chosen profession or rendering outstanding service through leadership may be elected to honorary membership (honoris causa).
