110(W) Introduction to Literature: Journey to Illusion. This course will deal with movies and novels that explore the sometimes terrifying relation between illusion and reality.  Among the movies considered will be the "The Truman Show," "The Matrix'," and "The Game."  Among the authors read will be Philip K. Dick (whose works inspired such movies as "Minority Report," "Total Recall'" and "Blade Runner"), Carlos Castaneda and Hermann Hesse.
