Epsilon Mu Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing at the Evelyn L. Shapiro School of Nursing, Wagner College announces the 2008 award recipient of the $1000 scholarship to Mr. John DeOca. A deserving second degree nursing student entering his senior year, John exemplifies our mission. John is an exemplar of leadership, scholarship in practice, education and research to enhancing the health of all people and striving to improve nursing care worldwide. John's persistence in pursing a nursing degree and experience makes him a worthwhile candidate for this award. John's goal is to pursue his doctorate. We wish him well in his career and future endeavors.

GENERAL INFORMATON 

The Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing, Epsilon Mu Chapter Nursing Scholarship is merit-based and will be awarded to one recipient on the basis of scholarship, involvement in organizations both nursing and in the community, work history, and the vision of his or her role as a caregiver in nursing.

ELIGIBILITY

All applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in order to apply. The applicant must be an Evelyn L. Spiro School of Nursing, Wagner College student in his or her junior year. Membership in Sigma Theta Tau International is not required.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Fill out the online application and submit it in its entirety. Only online applications will be accepted and reviewed.
2. Please send an official college transcript(s) and 1 letter of recommendation from a non-family member to:

3. All information submitted by the applicant is subject to verification.
4. All applicants must confirm that the information submitted is truthful.
5. Last date for submission is April 15, 2008. Applications received after midnight of this date will not be accepted for consideration.
6. The scholarship recipient will be announced on May 12, 2008.
