Requirements for a Minor in Italian

A minimum of 6 units with the following distribution. Only one course may be taken in English.  All courses taught in the language fulfill the International Perspectives requirement. (I) 

Required Language Classes – 4 units as follows:
107 Accelerated Elementary Italian.
117 Accelerated Intermediate Italian
231, 232 Italian Conversation and Composition I, II

Electives – 2 units to be chosen from among the following:

The following electives may be chosen:
IT 220: Italian Culture and Conversation
IT 291: Special Topics in Italian
HI 362: Renaissance Italy 1300-1600
AH 211: Renaissance and Baroque 
AN 322: Saints, Relics, and Popular Religion
Selected courses from St. John's Rome Program, upon approval from Coordinator of Italian Studies
(Please check with the departments of History, Art, and Anthropology for the availability of their courses.)

Students may complete their requirements for the Italian minor abroad.
