Mathematics majors learn to think with precision and logical rigor and to make both finite and abstract conclusions. Emphasis is placed on a broad range of applications. A minor in computer science or management information systems is an option. Graduates are prepared for graduate study or may choose careers in mathematics-related fields such as engineering, statistics, computing, actuarial science, physics, and education.
