Admission Policy

Traditional MBA Program

The following need to be submitted for review of an application:

  • A completed admission application and application fee.
  • A Bachelor's degree or the equivalent is the minimum requirement for admission to the MBA Program. Transcripts of academic records from all undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools attended.
  • A score on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). The test is given at numerous centers throughout the United States and abroad. It is strongly recommended that applicants take the GMAT no later than:
    • January, for the Summer semester
    • March, for the Fall semester
    • October, for the Spring semester

If a later test date is chosen, it is possible that the test scores will arrive too late to allow consideration of the applicant for the desired semester.

We admit applicants with a range of GMAT scores, there is no minimum requirement.

Wagner College participates in the GMAT Fee Waiver Program (http://www.gmac.com/gmac/thegmat/gmatfeewaiverprogram/).  To request the waiver, please contact Ms. Patricia Clancy, Administrative Assistant for Enrollment, at: patricia.clancy@wagner.edu.  Eligible students must be registered for the GMAT prior to May 2012.

  • Two reference forms completed by appropriate recommenders. Applicants who are college students or who have less than one yea of business experience should submit a letter of reference from a professor and a summer employer, if possible. Those with more than one year of business experience should have current supervisors submit letters.
  • Personal statement essay.

Candidates will be judged on the basis of the undergraduate GPA, work experience, GMAT score, letters of recommendation, and personal statement.

Transfer of Credit

The approval of the Department Chair or Director of MBA Programs is required for all transfer credits. The total number of credits accepted from accredited graduate schools will be three courses or 9 credits.

Students wishing to take courses at another accredited academic institution, for transfer to their graduate record at Wagner College, should obtain written approval from the Department Chair or the Director of MBA Programs before registering for such course. Only courses with a grade of B or higher will be considered and evaluated individually for transfer applicability. No upper-level undergraduate courses taken as part of an undergraduate program may be transferred into the MBA program.
