SeEun Choi, High School Level, clarinet

SeEunChoi
SeEun Choi was born in AnYang, South Korea.  She moved to the United States when she was four years old, and started playing the clarinet when she was eight years old.   A year after moving to Edison, she began studying with Mr..Hana Kim, who has been a guiding force in both her playing and in her life.  She has been accepted into the Central Jersey Region Bands in the middle school and high school levels for the last five years.  She was also accepted in the New Jersey All State Bands for the last two years and the New Jersey All State Orchestra in 2006. SeEun Choi is now a junior at the John P. Stevens High School in Edison, New Jersey.  At her high school, she is part of the concert and marching bands, which are under the direction of Mr. Andrew DeNicola and Mr.John Zazzalli.  She has been selected to be one of the three drums majors for the marching band season of 2006. 

Stone Ng, Pre-High School Level, piano

Stone Ng is 13 years old. He studies piano with Esther Lee Kaplan at Third Street Music School Settlement. He has performed in Christ and St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Peter Norton Symphony Space, The Pierre Hotel, Saint Marks Church, and Steinway Hall. Stone has won 1st place in the 2004 Nicholas Flagello Piano Competition, and Grand Prize in the 2006 Wagner Young Musicians Competition. Apart from solo piano, Stone also plays chamber music in the Third Street Music School Settlement, New York Youth Symphony, and The Hudson School.  He is also a member of the Third Street Music School Settlement’s Philharmonia Orchestra.  Stone has been in master classes taught by Carol Wincenc, Ida Kavafian, Phyllis Lehrer, Lang Lang, Ernest Salem and The Shanghai Quartet.  Stone also plays the violin at the Third Street Music School Settlement. Stone has attended Port Milford Music Camp and Kinhaven Music Camp, Meadowmount School of Music, and will be attending Interlochen Center for the Arts. Stone attends the eighth grade at The Hudson School in Hoboken, New Jersey.  Apart from music, Stone’s interests include tennis and skiing. Stone presented his recital at Wagner at 3:00 p.m., May 20, 2007.
