The Seven Year B.S./D.D.S. Program

The New York University College of Dentistry in conjunction with Wagner College offers a seven–year combined degree program in dental education. This program is designed for strongly motivated high school graduates, whose primary career goal is dentistry. A successful graduate from the program will have a bachelor of science degree from Wagner College and a doctor of dental surgery from New York University.

Students interested in the program will apply for the combined degree program before the start of their sophomore year. Candidates for the program must have outstanding high school records. Interested candidates will apply directly to Wagner College, and personal interviews will be conducted by Wagner College faculty members and New York University College of Dentistry faculty members. There will be annual reviews of students within the program to make sure they are progressing at an acceptable rate.

During the program a student must maintain a 3.5 GPA minimum with no exceptions. To gain entry into the dental component of the course, the student must score at least the median score for each part of the Dental Admission Test, which is to be taken before the start of their junior year. Normally a student will apply for admission to New York University College of Dentistry before their junior year. The final date for submitting the application is September 1 of the students third year at Wagner College.

Students within the program should attend the three dental orientation seminars given at New York University College of Dentistry.

After the successful completion of the first year of the dental program at New York University the student will receive their bachelor of science degree from Wagner College. On completion of the fourth year of dental school the student will receive their D.D.S. degree.
