Semester and Academic Year Programs
I. ANACSA Programs: (Associated New American Colleges Study Abroad)
a. Pay Wagner tuition
b. Receive all state and federal student aid
c. Receive all federally-backed student loans
d. Pay an additional program fee of $250
e. If the tuition is higher than Wagner tuition, the student is responsible for making up the difference
f. Do not receive Wagner scholarship. (Wagner scholarships will be reinstated upon students return to campus.)
g. If eligible for a Pell grant, apply for a Gilman Scholarship. http://www.iie.org//programs/gilman/index.html
h. Search the web at www.StudyAbroadFunding.org for scholarship opportunities to make up for the absence of Wagner scholarship funds
II. IES Programs: (Institute for the International Education of Students)
a. Pay Wagner tuition.
b. Receive all state and federal student aid
c. Receive all federally-backed student loans
d. If the tuition is higher than Wagner tuition, the student is responsible for making up the difference
e. Do not receive Wagner Scholarship. (Wagner scholarships will be reinstated upon students return to campus.)
f. Apply for additional scholarship funds through IES. Merit-based for 3.5 GPA or need-based.
g. If eligible for a Pell grant, apply for a Gilman Scholarship. http://www.iie.org//programs/gilman/index.html
h. Search the web at www.StudyAbroadFunding.org for scholarship opportunities to make up for the absence of Wagner scholarship funds
i. Pay housing directly to IES.
j. Note: Once accepted, upon signing the “Intent to Enroll” form, Wagner will pay the $500 deposit as part of the tuition bill.
k. Pay Wagner Program fee of $250.
III. Sagrado Corazón, San Juan, Puerto Rico. All classes in Spanish. Exchange model
a. Pay Wagner tuition
b. Receive all state and federal student aid
c. Receive all federally-backed student loans
d. Receive Wagner scholarship
e. Pay an additional program fee to host institution, usually under $1500.
f. Pay housing directly to Sagrado Corazón.
g. Pay Wagner Program fee of $250.
IV. Pre-approved non-Wagner study abroad through another accredited US college or university or accredited study abroad program.
a. Pay tuition at the host college or university.
b. Receive no state financial aid. Do not receive Wagner Scholarship. (Wagner scholarships will be reinstated upon students return to campus.)
c. Receive federal financial aid through a consortium agreement between Wagner financial aid office and the host institution
d. Receive federally-backed student loans if consortium agreement is in place.
e. Pay housing directly to the host institution.
f. Pay Wagner Program fee of $500.
V. Pre-approved summer programs (including IES programs). Usually less expensive. Most six-week programs cost what two units on campus at Wagner in the summer would cost.
a. Pay program fee (tuition and housing) directly to the sponsoring institution or organization
b. Receive no state or federal aid for summer programs; receive no Wagner financial aid
c. Apply for scholarships from the sponsoring institution or organization or visit www.StudyAbroadFunding.org
d. IES students paying Wagner tuition and taking at least two units abroad are eligible for federal loans.
