Biography: Dr. Felicia J. Ruff received her doctorate in Theatre History from the Graduate Center of CUNY and teaches theatre history, script analysis, and seminars in Modernism, Wilde, and ancient Greek theatre at Wagner College. In 2007 she received a NEH grant to attend “The Oscar Wilde Archive” at UCLA’s Clark Library; a book of the same title has been generated from this seminar for which she contributed a chapter titled: "The Transgressive Prop; or, Oscar Wilde's E(a)nest Signifier."
She has completed two other book chapters: “The Laugh Factory? Humor and Horror at Le Théâtre du Grand-Guignol” in Theatre Symposium: Comedy Tonight and "Oscar Wilde, the Erotique-Grotesque, and Modernist Spectacle" in Origins of English Dramatic Modernism, 1870 - 1914 as well as performance reviews for Theatre Journal and biographical entries for the Encyclopedia of Broadway and American Culture.
She serves as Chair of the Department of Theatre and Speech as well as the Chair of the Academic Policy Committee. She has extensive production experience, including opening the Center for the Arts at the College of Staten Island, where she worked with many artists of international renown.
