Events Management

Welcome

There are, quite literally, hundreds of events occurring on the Wagner campus annually. Given the space limitations on campus, each event must be planned well ahead. There are some simple steps that all event organizers need to follow when putting their event together and this website is designed to provide assistance in navigating those steps. Many offices across campus are involved in every event, so early planning becomes crucial so that you can be confident that each office has the people and resources to help make your event a success.

The basic steps for a successful event are to:

  1. Get a room assignment
  2. Request assistance from offices whose services you need (see tabs on top of page)
  3. If the event is catered or involves the entire campus, please click on the Maintenance/Housekeeping tab so they can be sure to handle your event.
  4. If the event requires parking assistance, additional security, or handicapped assistance, please contact Public Safety, (718-390-3148).
  5. If there are changes to your event, please remember that each of the service areas will need to be notified by email of these changes.
  6. Post your event to the Campus Calendar, if appropriate.

Room Assignment

Given the number of events that occur on campus daily, your event planning starts with getting a room assignment. Faculty and staff must complete this room request form, while students must complete this event registration form. You should receive your room assignment and a confirmation number within 2 business days. Once you have those two items, you can return to this website to request assistance from any needed campus offices.

Faculty - Academic Classes

The Registrar's Office is responsible for assigning academic classes to classrooms. If there is a particular classroom in which you prefer to teach, you should alert your department chair. Department chairs provide this information to the Registrar's Office each semester.
  • If a faculty member needs to request a permanent classroom change, please contact the Registrar's Office.
  • If a faculty member needs a different classroom for one class meeting (including to give an exam), please complete the room request form.

President and Provost

If you expect President Guarasci to appear at your event, please make arrangements with Pat Fitzpatrick, (718-390-3131).

If you expect Provost Lieberman to appear at your event, please make arrangements with Joy Stapleton, (718-390-3211).
