Students enrolled in this program will complete six (6) courses and 270 hours of community service over the next four years. The 30 hours required in the first year program and 100 hours required of all students in the senior year are included in the 270 total hours. The courses included in this Certificate Program include: a Reflective Tutorial in the First Year Learning Community, a service-learning course, a course in domestic poverty, a course in international exposure or study abroad, and a Senior Reflective Tutorial in your major. All these courses will count toward the 36 units needed for graduation.
All students are required to finish 270 hours throughout their 4 years at Wagner College. The hours will be divided as so: 70 hours as a first year student, 100 hours during their Sophomore and Junior year (or summer), and 100 hours as a senior. The students involved in this program will be expected to have developed a leadership role in an organization in the community. In order to obtain the certificate at the point of graduation, students must choose particular courses in the categories below:
A. Lead in Course: Psychology/Sociology
