Fire Safety

Consolidated Fire Safety Director Z50 Certification

New York City Fire Safety Directors are building employees certified by the FDNY that have the knowledge and responsibility to order evacuations, liaise with the FDNY in emergency situations, and protect life and property.

The Fire Department of the City of New York issues Certificates of Fitness for various occupations by providing tests to applicants. Certificate of Fitness is required by laws and regulations to conduct certain businesses within the New York City for hazardous occupations.

This 24-hour Fire Safety Director course will prepare you for the Certificate of Fitness required to become a Fire Safety Director. The course consists of 5 four-hour lectures and 1 two-hour class on fire command panels.

Fire Safety Coordinator Certification

Become a Fire Safety Coordinator while fulfilling DHS (Department of Homeless Services) required study for those employed at NY homeless shelters and other buildings used for housing. A Fire Safety Coordinator is required in buildings occupied by more than 15 persons and used more than 30 days a year for housing. For example, a Fire Safety coordinator is required in auditoriums, churches, schools, community centers, shelters, and other such buildings used for housing.
