Introduction to the Non-Profit Sector

Learn the history, theory, practice and function of the nonprofit sector. Throughout this course, students will learn how the nonprofit sector fits into the national economy and why its services are important to a thriving public sector. These topics are relevant for professionals who are curious about what the nonprofit world may offer, as well as others who are seeking an introduction to the many facets of nonprofit work, such as volunteering and fundraising. These goals will be accomplished through readings, discussions, and a final project where students can explore their individual interests.
