Robert Delfausse has been teaching at Wagner College for sixteen years. A graduate of Williams College who received his Ph.D. in music theory at the City University of New York, Dr. Delfausse currently teaches music theory and trumpet, and directs both the concert band and jazz ensemble.  He taught previously at Western Wyoming College, where he directed the college-community orchestra and jazz ensemble. 

Dr. Delfausse is a professional trumpet player with backgrounds in the classical, commercial, and jazz fields.  In recent years he performs most frequently with a brass quintet, the Riverside Brass, based on Staten Island.  Dr. Delfausse is also a jazz pianist.  
    
Dr. Delfausse is an arranger and composer.  Over the last fifteen years he has composed mostly chamber music for brass and winds. Much of this music shows the influences of jazz and Latin-American music.
