My name is Nidhi Khanna and I am a double major in Biology and Philosophy. This summer, I began working with Dr. Fulop and Professor Corbo in the laboratory. The project that I will be working on utilizes electron microscopy to study the optic nerve of adult zebrafish. Further focus of the project is to study morphological changes in the optic nerve during transneuronal degeneration induced by laser-damaging the retina. Specifically, anterograde and retrograde degeneration of the optic nerve will be analyzed. Currently, I serve as the Editor-in Chief of Wagner’s yearbook, section editor for the Wagnerian newspaper, and am the Assistant Student Editor of the Biology Department’s monthly newsletter, Limulus. My other memberships include the Pre-Health Society, Project Sunshine, Biology Club, Tri-Beta, ODK, and the Honors Program at Wagner College. Additionally, I work as the History and Philosophy Peer Tutor on campus.
