  • Research private scholarships by visiting your high school guidance office or the public library and search the internet:

  • Request applications for private scholarships.
DECEMBER
  • Pick up 2007-2008 FAFSA and state grant applications from a high school guidance office or Wagner College Office of Financial Aid (see Info Request Form )
  • Complete private scholarship applications.
  • Federal government mails 2007-2008 FAFSA Renewal forms to returning students who completed the FAFSA last year.
JANUARY-FINANCIAL AID AWARENESS MONTH
  • Collect 2006 tax records.
  • Locate Financial Aid workshops in your area.
  • Prepare 2007-2008 FAFSA and state grant applications; remember to make copies for your records.
  • Complete FAFSA via website or mail FAFSA in the envelope provided.
  • Meet with your parents to discuss financial aid.
  • Spring semester begins.
  • Colleges begin receiving FAFSA data from the processor.
FEBRUARY
  • February 15 priority FAFSA filing deadline for prospective students.
  • Wagner’s Admissions Office begins notifying accepted students of their academic/merit scholarship or grant.
MARCH
  • Award Summaries are created and mailed to prospective freshmen.
APRIL
  • Award Summaries are accepted and returned to the Office of Financial Aid.
  • April 15 priority filing deadline for returning students to file FAFSA.
  • All paperwork for prospective students should be submitted by April 30, 2007.
  • Exit Interviews take place for graduating senior loan borrowers.
MAY
  • May 1st deadline for admissions decisions.
  • Stafford Loan Master Promissory Notes and Entrance Counseling Session information mailed to incoming deposited students.
  • Requests for additional information (tax returns, other financial documents) are mailed to students.
JUNE
  • Award Summaries are created and mailed to returning students.
  • Review of FAFSA information for all returning students begins.
  • Submission of Stafford, PLUS and alternative loan applications. 
  • Bills mailed to freshmen.
  • Set up payment plan with Tuition Management Systems.
  • All requested paperwork due.
JULY 
  • Returning students’ Award Summaries are accepted and returned to the Office of Financial Aid.
  • Parent Loan processing begins.
  • Student Loan processing begins.
  • Freshmen bills due.
  • Fall bills are mailed to returning students.
AUGUST
  • Bills for returning students due.
  • All paperwork for returning students should be submitted.
  • Orientation Weekend.
  • Fall semester begins the last week in August.
  • College Work Study job placement begins (first two weeks of classes)
SEPTEMBER
  • Job placement for non-CWS students begins (mid-Sept.).
