Choosing a lender for your educational loans is an important and personal decision.  The Office of Financial Aid has designed a Suggested Lender List that will assist in guiding you through the loan process and provide you with valuable information.  The lenders on the list were chosen after responding to a Request for Proposal (RFP).  The RFPs were evaluated on factors such as customer service and borrower benefits.

You are free to choose any lender that you wish.  Wagner College will process loans from all lenders and guarantee agencies with the same consideration and turn-around time as those on the Suggested Lender List.

We suggest you consider factors such as fees, interest rates and borrower benefits when selecting a lender. You may want to call potential lenders and ask questions about their loan product(s) for addtional information and so you may get a feel for the level of service provided.

It is recommend that you continue to use the same lender throughout the life of your loan as you will then repay one agency.  Of course, if you are unhappy with a lender you may choose to use another for future borrowing.

In addition, you may also want to review the Federal Trade Commission and US Department of Education websites in reference to federal loans.

The Suggested Lender Lists for the 2008-2009 academic year are available at www.elmselect.com.  You are not required to select any of the lenders listed; all loans regardless of lender will be processed with the same efficiency.
