Obtaining a graduate education can be quite rewarding and expensive. Many students rely upon financial assistance to help them afford the graduate experience.
You may find the Graduate Student Federal Aid Checklist to be a helpful tool in guiding you through the process.
The various types of financial assistance are listed below:
Wagner offers GA positions through the Division of Graduate Studies. Accelerated MBA and Executive MBA students are ineligible for GA positions. Please visit the Graduate Studies webpage for additional information. All GAs must complete a FAFSA and Graduate Enrollment Form. A copy of your signed Graduate Assistant contract must be submitted to the Office of Financial Aid so your tuition credits may be applied appropriately.
Alumni Fellowships are awarded to graduate students who completed their undergraduate degree at Wagner College. The Fellowship is limited to degree-seeking graduate students and those in the Educational Leadership or Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate programs only.
Fellows receive a 25% tuition discount. During the regular academic year (fall/spring), students must be registered for a minimum of 9 credits and a maximum of 12 credit in order to receive the discount. During the summer session, a student must be registered for a minimum of 6 credits and maximum of 12 credits in order to benefit from the fellowship. Limited exceptions may apply.
Those receiving Alumni Fellowships may not simultaneously receive another discount or assistantship from the College.
Students may wish to pay their balance through an interest-free payment plan. In order to do so, you will need to sign-up with Tuition Management Systems (TMS).
There are multiple types of educational loans available to graduate students. These include the Stafford Loan and alternative loans.
Students who wish to borrow a loan must complete the FAFSA and a Graduate Enrollment Worksheet .
In addition to the Stafford and Alternative Loans, graduate students are eligible to borrow a PLUS. In order to qualify for a PLUS, you must file a FAFSA, exhaust all Stafford Loan eligibility for the year and be credit-worth as deemed by the lender.
