Effective July 1, 2011, the Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy has been updated to reflect the requirements of the U.S. Department of Education. Please review the new policy under the Eligibility section of this website.
For the 2011-2012 academic year, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed in order for a Parent PLUS Loan to be processed. If you need to complete a FAFSA, please do so at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
The NYS legislature has finalized the state budget and will be notifying students of their NYS Tuition Assistant Program (TAP) grants and state scholarships in the coming weeks. Please refer to the HESC website for regulatory changes that will be in effect due to the new budget.
Due to the implementation of the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program, delivery of loan proceeds to student accounts may occur later than anticipated. Students rely upon loan funds for books or living expenses may need to make appropriate arrangements until their loan proceeds are disbursed.
March 30, 2010 - President Obama signed reconciliation legislation into law today that will greatly impact federal student lending. The law eliminates the lender-based Family Federal Education Loan Program (FFELP) and requires all schools to participate in Federal Direct Lending.
Wagner College students will be impacted in the following way for 2010-2011:
Stafford Loans - current borrowers who plan to borrow for 2010-2011
Parent PLUS Loans - current and new borrowers for 2010-2011
Stafford Loans - new borrowers for 2010-2011
Graduate PLUS Loans - current and new borrowers

Effective for the 2010-2011 academic year, the Office of Financial Aid will no longer maintain a Suggested Lender List. We advise each student to select a lender based upon interest rates, fees, borrower benefits and customer service. Remember that you will have a long relationship with your lender and you want to be sure you choose the best fit for you. Federal loans should be exhausted prior to borrowing through private/alternative lenders.
Beginning October 2009, the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment Program a phase-in of an online timesheet system for student employees will be launched. Each month, a new group of departments will be introduced into the system until the entire campus community is online. We anticipate the phase-in to be complete by February 2010.
