ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP: Reporting to Director of Network and Communications
JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for overall data, systems, and network security; assist Director of Network and Communications with System Administration tasks.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement plans to safeguard computer systems and data against accidental or unauthorized access, modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs.
- Confer with users to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security requirements and violations, and programming changes
- Document, develop and recommend to CIO Data lifecycle management procedures
- Internal security and IT systems audit
- Document, develop and recommend to CIO computer security and emergency measures policies, procedures, and tests.
- Review violations of computer security procedures and report violations to Director of Networking and Communications and CIO
- Upgrade, configure and maintain system software that supports the academic and business computing models of the college
- Educate and train users and promote security awareness to ensure system security and to improve server and network efficiency.
- Monitor current reports of computer threats and determine appropriate mitigation and remediation solutions
- Configure computer security files to incorporate new software, correct errors, or change individual access status.
- Coordinate desktop imaging with security requirement implementations
- Monitor use of data files and regulate access to safeguard information
- Perform risk assessments and address vulnerabilities
- Maintain operational, configurational, or other procedures.
- Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
- Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
- Report directly to CIO on a weekly basis on all security incidents
- Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities: as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Work Experience: 5-7 yrs combined enterprise level system administration experience, out of which at least 3 yrs overall responsibility of enterprise level security of all systems; Must have developed enterprise level security policies; 3yrs linux and windows server experience; Shell and Perl scripting required, Python, LDAP and google apps experience preferred
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science; may be substituted by combination of certifications and at least 7 years experience in the field of computer security.
- Certifications: Security+, CISA preferred
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS 24/7 on-call and some night and weekend work

GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP
CO-CURRICULAR PROGRAMS
Mission:
The Co-Curricular Programs mission is to encourage the active participation of students (commuter and residential) by developing leadership skills, personal responsibility, and social justice advocacy. We celebrate individuality, diversity, and wellness through meaningful programming connecting students to the Wagner community.
Overview:
The Graduate Assistant (GA) for Co-Curricular Programs provides and supports programs and activities that stimulate and enhance the curricular and co-curricular experiences of students. This GA assists the Director of Co-Curricular Programs in creating a seamless and inclusive learning environment. Additionally, this position requires evening and weekend hours as needed to support campus wide programs and events.
The specific focus of this position is on the encouragement of active participation through Greek Life & campus programming.
Responsibilities include:
- Compile and distribute monthly calendar of events.
- GPA checks for student groups.
- Work with the Graduate Assistant for Academic and Cultural Enrichment (ACE) to develop partnerships in programming.
- Work with student groups and the Director and Assistant Director of CCP to promote thematic weeks/months
- Maintain and update campus signboard.
- Maintain programming resources and develop an evaluation process of all campus events.
- Serve as a liaison to the Greek system (i.e., fraternities, sororities, IFC, NPC, Greek Senate, etc.)
- Schedule and promote educational, cultural, and recreational campus wide activities
- Participate in development and implementation of leadership initiatives
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours (20/week) as well as attendance at Departmental, Campus Life & other necessary meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Note: Graduate Assistants for Co-Curricular Programs are not permitted to have employment outside of the GA position without approval from the Director of Co-Curricular Programs and the Assistant Dean of Campus Life. Any job that is approved may not exceed 20 hours of outside commitments. GAs must maintain a 3.0 GPA and must be enrolled in a full-time graduate program at Wagner College.
