Assistant Chief Engineer
Full time position in Powerhouse

REQUIREMENTS:
Hands on knowledge, operation and maintenance of:
•    Pneumatic & DC Control
•    Power plant central heating systems and control
•    Fire systems
•    Cooling absorbers
•    Electric and mechanical repair and installation
•    Balance and adjust systems
•    Inspect and repair pumps, motor, exhaust
•    Work under minimal supervision
5 Years Minimum Experience
Weekends,evenings and holidays.
Shift to be determined.
Computerized controls & P.C. knowledge required

REPONSIBILITIES:
•    Operate and maintain heating, ventilating, and air conditioning
•    Equipment, pumps and controls
•    Painting and cleaning
•    Must follow procedures to guard against burns, electric shock and noise, as well as moving parts and exposure to hazardous materials
 
LICENSING:
•    NYC Refrigeration Licenses preferred
•    Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Licenses preferred

WORKING GROUNDS FOREMAN

Full Time Union Position

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Grounds foreman leads a crew of five and is responsible for the daily maintenance, rehabilitation and/or creation of landscape areas throughout the college campus and related locations.
  • Assigns, oversees and engages in tasks such as: lawn mowing; shrubbery care and trimming; planting of flowers, shrubs, bushes, etc and sod installation.
  • Maintain proper inventory, supplies and equipment levels; ordering and arranging for deliveries and/or pickups of such items, and insuring that all such items are stored and maintained in proper order.
  • Participate in budget planning and oversight within the department.
  • Ensure that campus and external buildings are to be kept free and clear of snow and ice during inclement weather.  

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years of Grounds work experience.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong initiative with ability to work with limited direct supervision.
  • Ability to forecast labor, materials and equipment needs based on the College’s calendar.
  • Ability to direct, train and supervise crew to ensure completion of assignments while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Drivers License required.

Incumbent shall be a member of the Local 30, I.U.O.E. AFL-CIO bargaining unit and subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Local 30 and Wagner College.
