The goal of the Partnership for Performance Excellence process is to create a work environment that encourages everyone to achieve outstanding results.  It’s based on the assumption that maximizing the potential of each and every employee is the key to the long term success of the college.

When many people hear the term “performance management” they equate it with an appraisal form of some kind.  However, performance management is a cyclical, year-round process in which managers and employees collaborate on setting expectations and reviewing results.  Performance management is about helping employees strive for excellence in the workplace.

The better the staff performs, the better the college performs – it’s as simple as that.  That’s why understanding the dynamics of performance and encouraging employees to do their best is so important.

Performance management is an administrative process with shared responsibilities, designed to improve the college’s results by optimizing the performance of individuals, teams and departments.  This will be accomplished by aligning individual efforts with the objectives of the college.

The Partnership for Performance Excellence is grounded in the belief of continuous improvement.  Though assessment is a key aspect of the process, the focus is on ensuring success in the future

The process contains the following four phases.
