Overhead Projectors

Most classrooms on the Wagner campus are equipped with an overhead projector and wall screen. Only send a request for an overhead projector if your event is occurring in a room that does not have an overhead projector already. Requests require a one business day lead time. Be sure that your request includes:

  • the date and time of the class or event
  • the location (building and room)

Overhead Troubleshooting

Media Services conducts routine inspections on these overhead projectors, however technical difficulties do occasionally arise. Here are some common problems and their possible solutions:

Light is off, cooling fan is off

  • Turn orange power switch (located on the side of the projector) to the on position.
  • Make sure the overhead is plugged into power strip located on push cart.
  • Make sure push cart power strip is plugged into wall outlet.
  • Try another outlet on a different wall in the room.

Light is off, cooling fan is on

  • For immediate help, call the Help Desk at 718-390-3410 to change the halogen lamp or email us later with the building & room number.

Light is on, cooling fan is off

  • Shut off projector immediately. Projectors running without the cooling fan can cause the lamps to burst and damage the projector. Please notify us immediately by calling 718-390-3410 or send an email.

Borrowing an overhead projector from another classroom is also an option, however please call (718-390-3410) or email us so that we can fix the problem.
