Connecting a Laptop to an LCD Projector
Things you'll need:
| 1. Laptop |
3. VGA cable |
| 2. LCD projector |
4. Extension cord (possibly) |
1. Plug the LCD projector into a power outlet using the power cord in the outside pocket of the projector's carrying case. |
2. Turn on the main power switch located at the back of the projector. |
3. When the power light glows orange, the projector is ready. Press the ON/STAND BY button. The power light will glow green, the status light goes out and the lens will slowly warm up projecting a blue square.
| PLEASE NOTE: If you press ON, OFF and then ON immediately, the projector may not turn on right away. Instead the status light will blink red. This is just the projector's way of warning the user that it needs to cool down. In the event that this happens, leave the projector plugged in with the main power switch turned on. This will allow the projector's fan to remain on to cool off the lamp inside. After 3 - 5 minutes, the projector will be ready to function properly. |
4. Locate VGA cable. |
5. Locate either RGB IN1 or RGB IN2. Connect one end of the VGA cable to either input connection. (It doesn't matter which.) |
6. Connect the other end of the VGA cable to the VGA output on your laptop. This connection is the same connection on the back of the LCD projector.
7. Press the "SOURCE" button. A menu will appear on the screen. Select RGB IN1 or RGB IN2, depending on which you used.
8. Finally, turn on your laptop and open the program of your choosing. Manipulate the blue rim around the lens of the projector to focus. There is a small lever located on the lens that controls the zoom. Moving the projector to another desk may also help you adjust the size and quality of the image. |
