Updating Your System

For the most recent updates and security patches for Microsoft Windows, please visit: Windows Update. When connected to the site, please click on "Scan for updates." Install all critical updates and patches.

Automatic Updates

For Windows

Please use the following instructions to have your system automatically find and install updates and patches:

"Right" click on the "My Computer" icon either on your Desktop or in your Start Menu.

Click on "properties." The System Properties window should come up.

Click on the “Automatic Updates" tab. If you notice a check mark in the box next to the description: "Keep my computer up to date," then your system is already set up to automatically update. If you don't see the check mark, left click the box to enable the feature.

You can also customize the way your computer automatically updates by choosing one of the settings listed in the lower section of the "Automatic Updates" window.

For Apple

Go to System Preferences, Software Update and click Check Now.
