How may I borrow books or articles that the library does not own?
You have two choices.
1. The Horrmann Library offers interlibrary loan and document delivery services to its patrons, enabling patrons to borrow books from other libraries and even get full text articles emailed to them. Please see the Interlibrary Loan page for more details.
2. In addition, you may come to the library reference desk and ask for a "METRO" card, which will allow you to visit certain metropolitan New York libraries for your research. Call the library reference desk for more information, 718-390-3402.

May I print or make copies in the library?
Yes. Patrons must log in to the library computers to use the printers. Printing (black and white only) costs $0.10 per page, and patrons' accounts will be charged upon printing confirmation. Color printing is NOT available in the library, but you can go to Spiro Hall Computer Lab B to use their color printers. Copiers (black and white only) are also available for patrons' convenience, and single-sided copies cost $0.10 per page. Library copy machines require copy cards, which can be purchased within the library.

Can I send a fax from the library?
No. If you wish to send a fax, you may do so from the campus post office in the basement of Campus Hall.

How do I find books by their call number?
All books held in the library are assigned a "Call Number," which lets you know where it is shelved in the library. For example, the book "C++ in the Lab" is assigned call number QA76.73.C153 D45 2003. Books are shelved in call number order, so you would walk to the "Q" section, then you'll see QA, QB, etc. Next, look at the number after QA, and keep going from QA1 until you see QA76, keep going until you see QA76.73 (after QA76.72). Follow this method through each section of the call number and you'll find the book that matches the entire call number. PLEASE NOTE: Some books may have errors on their labels. If a book has a call number QA76.73.C15.3 D45 2003, you can disregard the decimal in the second section (C15.3). There should not be decimal points in the middle of the second section of the call number. It is really C153. If you have questions, please ask a librarian.
