The mission of the Office of Residential Education at Wagner College is to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive residential community that supports and challenges student growth and development through educational, social, and leadership opportunities.

Within the residence halls, students have a variety of opportunities to grow and develop their talents and skills through formal leadership positions such as a Resident Assistant or Desk Attendant, through active participation in the Residence Hall Association, and through informal contributions to programs and activities.  Educational, social, and cultural programs are offered each week to spark dialogue and action amongst the student population, as well as to respond to student interests and needs.  The Residential Education staff encourages and values group collaboration, the celebration of diversity, rational decision-making, consideration of different viewpoints, and respect for individual dignity.  Success in the classroom is supported through the enforcement of quiet hours, the upkeep of study areas, referrals to faculty and staff around campus, and programs and resources provided by the well-trained staff.  The community atmosphere is maintained through a judicial process that holds students accountable for violations of College policy in the residence halls.
