Suozzi speaks March 23

    On Tuesday, March 23 at 5 p.m., please join Wagner College’s Hugh L. Carey Institute for Government Reform in welcoming Thomas Suozzi, who will be speaking on “What’s Wrong with Albany and How to Fix It.” The lecture, which is free, will be delivered in Spiro Hall, Rm. 4. The public is invited to attend.

In fall 1998, Wagner College began implementing the Wagner Plan for the Practical Liberal Arts, a comprehensive undergraduate educational program dedicated to integrative learning, reflective practice, and experiential learning in the context of a liberal education.

In memoriam: Rodger Hurley, 70

    Rodger Hurley, 70, of Granville, N.Y., husband of Wagner College English professor Ann Hurley, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010.

White House honors Wagner College

    Wagner College has been named to the 2009 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement.
    This is the fourth year in a row Wagner has received this honor.

2010 Stanley Drama Award winner named

    The Wagner College Theatre has named Richard Martin Hirsch, of Pacific Palisades, Calif., the winner of the 2010 Stanley Drama Award for his play, “The Restoration of Sight.”

Artist's reception Saturday, March 20

    The Wagner College Gallery will present the work of New York-based artist, Sun You, from Friday, March 5 through Saturday, April 3, with an artist’s reception scheduled for Saturday, March 20 from 2 to 4 p.m.

February 27th

Youth Empowerment Summit, Feb. 27

    On Saturday, Feb. 27 from 12 to 4 p.m., the third annual Youth Empowerment Summit will be held on the campus of Staten Island’s Wagner College in Spiro Hall, Rm. 2. The event is jointly sponsored by Island Voice, a local youth services organization, and Wagner College’s History and Education departments. Admission is free. Donations of canned food and gently used clothing are requested for the Staten Island food pantries and Haiti clothing drive.

February 26th

COLLEGE RESUMES NORMAL SCHEDULE

As of Saturday, Feb. 27, following a major snowstorm that crippled the New York City area, Wagner College operations have resumed a normal schedule.

The ferry shuttle is expected to resume its regular schedule. For more information, call Public Safety (ext. 3148).

All Saturday Academy of Arts children's classes will meet as scheduled.

All External Programs classes will run as scheduled Saturday and Sunday.

Horrmann Library will follow a normal Saturday schedule on Feb. 27, opening from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

February 25th

CLASSES CANCELED FRI. 2/26

Wagner College has canceled all classes for Friday, Feb. 26 due to weather. Only essential offices will be open.

Ferry shuttle service has been suspended.

Horrmann Library is open today from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Spiro Sports Center is open normal hours.

College open for normal schedule Thursday, Feb. 25

Wagner College will be opening for a normal schedule on Thursday, Feb. 25.
However, please check your e-mail or the college Web site throughout the day for any changes in status that might be necessitated by changes in weather conditions.
