Wagner to Celebrate MLK Life, Legacy, Jan. 22-27

A conversation with Drs. Robert and Patricia Carey, who worked alongside Dr. Martin Luther King during the civil rights struggles of the 1960s, will be the highlight of a week-long celebration of the work of Dr. King at Wagner College, January 22-27.

The Carey’s will recount their experiences working with Dr. King and discuss how a civically engaged campus can help to carry on his legacy.

Dr. Patricia Carey is currently the Associate Dean for Student Services and Public Affairs at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education and the University’s Assistant Provost with direct oversight of the NYU Martin Luther King Scholars Program. Dr. Robert Carey, an award-winning reviewer for the journal Books and Religion Trinity, is working on a project in reading as a cognitive and social practice, and is currently the Faculty Unit Coordinator for the Staten Island Unit of Empire State College.
