Woodstock printmakers exhibit work through March 28

            “The City and Beyond,” an exhibition of prints and etchings by Karen Whitman and Richard Pantell, is a must-see contemporary show at the Wagner College Gallery on Grymes Hill. On display through March 28, the exhibition features masterfully executed block prints and etchings by these award-winning printmakers from the Woodstock artists colony.



'Vagina Monologues' benefit to be staged this weekend

            This weekend, a group of Wagner College students will observe the 10th anniversary of V-Day by staging “The Vagina Monologues.”


Unger to speak on 'State of American Jewry' April 1

On Tuesday, April 1 at 8 p.m., Rabbi Dr. Abraham Unger will speak on “The State of American Jewry” at the Bernikow Building of the Staten Island Jewish Community Center, 1466 Manor Road. Unger, spiritual leader of Congregation Ahavath Israel in Tottenville, is an assistant professor and director of urban programs in the Department of Government and Politics at Wagner College, where he also serves as the campus Jewish chaplain. Unger’s presentation is part of the 3rd Annual Jewish Culture Series, co-sponsored by the Wagner College Chai Society and the Staten Island Jewish Community Center.


'Sicko' movie, debate, April 2

            Omicron Delta Epsilon, the international economics honors society at Wagner College, will sponsor a movie screening and debate, “National Health Insurance: What is it Good For?” on Wednesday, April 2 at 3 p.m. in Spiro 2. The public is invited. The event is free.


Joint graduate school fair April 5

On Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., meet with representatives from Wagner
College, St. John's University and the College of Staten Island in the
Spiro Sports Center to discuss their master's and doctoral programs.

School to give Civic Engagement Recognition awards

      On Thursday, April 10 at 4:15 p.m., Wagner College will host its second annual Civic Engagement Recognition Day awards program. The guest speaker for the program will be Josephine Olsen, deputy director of the Peace Corps. The program will take place in Wagner College’s Spiro Hall, Room 2.

Relay for Life Dance Marathon cancer fundraiser April 12

            The Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity, the Student Government Association and the Omicron Delta Kappa honor society will jointly hold a dance marathon the evening of Saturday, April 12, in the Sutter Gymnasium. Ticket sales and pledges for the dance marathon will benefit the American Cancer Society. Entry tickets are $10 per person in advance, $15 at the door (or $12 each at the door for a group of 5).
