STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The all-important final stage of New York's state budget-negotiations is about to unfold in Albany. As usual, it's likely that the closer the clock ticks to midnight on the final day of the fiscal year, March 31, the more important changes and details will be hidden from the view of taxpayers--and even from legislators themselves. But the secrecy of the budget-making process is only part of the problem. Too much information about the spending of taxpayer money is needlessly obscured from public view all year round in the Empire State.
Karen Whitman and Richard Pantell, whose prints and etchings are on display in the Wagner College Gallery through March 28, will offer a gallery talk about their work and techniques on Tuesday, March 11 at 11 a.m. Later that day, they will attend a gallery reception from 5 to 8 p.m.
