Stanley Drama Award music, art contests deadline TODAY

            Wagner College Theater Department proudly announces two student competitions in celebration of the Stanley Drama Awards: a musical composition contest, and an art contest.

Science Student Career Development Night, April 22

            Wagner College will host a Science Student Career Development Night program on Tuesday, April 22 from 7 to 8 p.m. in Spiro Hall, Room 2. The program is intended for high school and college science majors. 

Civic Engagement Awards nominations deadline TODAY

       Wagner College is accepting nominations through Friday, March 14 for its second annual Civic Engagement Recognition Day Awards. The awards recognize and honor an exceptional individual or community partner who exemplifies a sense of caring and responsibility for others that connects citizens to one another and works to address community problems. The awardees give their time to community activities, inspiring others to serve, and acts as a role model while improving the lives of others. One winner from each category (faculty, staff, student, and community partner) will be chosen. Award winners will be announced at Civic Engagement Recognition Day festivities on April 10 at 4:15 p.m. in Spiro Hall, Room 2. Dr. Josephine Olsen, deputy director of the Peace Corps, will be our special guest at the awards ceremony.

Prof. Unger named to Downtown Staten Island Council board

            Wagner College Professor Abraham Unger was recently named to the board of the Downtown Staten Island Council. Unger is assistant professor and director of urban programs in the Department of Government and Politics at Wagner College, where he also serves as the campus Jewish chaplain. He is rabbi of Congregation Ahavath Israel, a growing synagogue of young families in Tottenville.

Wagner art professor Bill Murphy profiled in magazine

            Wagner College art professor Bill Murphy is one of four “emerging artists” (“Imagine that, at my age!” quipped the 56-year-old professor) featured in the Spring Collectors Sourcebook, a separate magazine packaged with the March issue of Art and Antiques Magazine:
