Doors to the Spiro Sports Center will open at 12 o’clock noon this Saturday, Sept. 6 -- not 12:30 p.m., as previously announced -- for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s appearance at Councilman Michael McMahon’s congressional campaign event. The program itself is expected to begin around 12:30 p.m. The public -- including the entire campus community -- is encouraged to attend. |
As we approach the seventh anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, we would like to invite you to our campus’s annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony on Trautmann Square, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 11, at 12 noon. Special remarks will be made by President Richard Guarasci, Dean Anne Love and SGA President Harry Jackson.
Please join Dr. Lori Weintrob, chair of the History Department, for a seminar on the history of Wagner College to be held on Friday, Sept. 12 at 3 p.m. in the main room of the Horrmann Library. Four panelists will present their research on the college’s history and answer questions from the audience.
Wagner College will host “Staten Island Now: Partnerships in Economic Development,” a panel discussion led by Wagner President Richard Guarasci, on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. in Spiro Hall, Room 2. The public is invited. There is no admission charge.

What's at stake for women in the 2008 elections? Find out when Lori Marso speaks on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 2:45 p.m. in Spiro 4. Marso will speak from a feminist perspective on change, freedom and choice. Refreshments will be served.
The first five people to arrive for Marso’s lecture will receive a free copy of “W Stands for Women.” Marso co-edited “W Stands for Women: How the George W. Bush Presidency Shaped a New Politics of Gender,” published last year by the Duke University Press.
On Thursday, Sept. 18 at 5 p.m., Wagner College’s Hugh L. Carey Center for Government Reform will hold a panel discussion on “How the News Media Covers (or Doesn’t Cover) New York State Government.” This discussion will take place on the college’s Grymes Hill, Staten Island campus in Spiro Hall, Room 4. The public is invited.
The Student Government Association has announced the results of the recent election for freshman senators. The new senators are Cody Dulock, Melissa Speranza, Prema Bhatia and Christian Carey.
Wagner College will name its newest residence hall for the benefactor who has recently given the institution a $5 million donation, the second-largest single contribution in the college’s history and the largest ever received for a residence hall.
Project Pericles is sponsoring a student essay contest during this presidential election season.
The topic: “Which candidate would be the best president for the United States, and why?”
Entries must be between 750 and 1,000 words in length.
