Ex-skinhead depicts hunts for victims

STATEN ISLAND, Jan. 28, 2009 — Last month, 100 new trees were planted on the Grymes Hill campus of Wagner College, thanks to Million Trees NYC, part of the city’s PlaNYC environmental revitalization plan. The trees were planted by the New York Restoration Project, a non-profit organization that is leading the citywide tree planting initiative in partnership with the New York City Parks Department.
Former President Bill Clinton has invited Wagner College President Richard Guarasci to speak at the second Clinton Global Initiative University, to be held at the University of Texas at Austin from Feb. 13 through Feb. 15. President Guarasci will speak to a gathering of more than 1,000 students during a session entitled “Human Development as Urban Development in City Slums.”
NEW YORK, Jan. 27, 2009 — “The Miracles of Prato,” a historical romance novel by Wagner College art history professor Laura Morowitz and English professor Laurie Albanese, was released today for sale. The book is published by William Morrow.
On Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m., Wagner College will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with its annual Agent of Change Awards program. The keynote speaker for the evening will be former neo-Nazi T.J. Leyden. The award winners will be Professor Cheryl Nadeau, of the Evelyn L. Spiro School of Nursing, and senior history major Justina Licata. The program, which will be held in Spiro Hall, Room 2, is free and open to the public

Please consider volunteering to assist the Office of Financial Aid with College Goal Sunday 2009, scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
College Goal Sunday is a national event designed to assist lower-income families with completing their financial aid application. Wagner College has served as the Staten Island host site for the last 3 years.
In its Jan. 15 issue, the New Jersey Jewish News published an editorial essay by Wagner College Chaplain Abe Unger on the $50 billion Ponzi scheme foisted by Bernard Madoff on the investment community.
A report on New York State’s dysfunctional government, released earlier this month by NYU’s Brennan Center for Justice, has once again thrust Wagner College Distinguished Professor Seymour Lachman into the limelight.
