MAGNOLIA

As if auditions weren't nerve-racking enough, Brianna Horne's will take place live on national television.

The 18-year-old Magnolia native is among the 10 young performers chosen from more than 500 aspiring stars for "My Broadway Debut", a competition on The Early Show on CBS.

Each day this week, two performers belted show tunes during the program. For Horne, today is the day.

"I'm excited about the competition, it doesn't matter whether I win or lose," said Horne, who is finishing her freshman year at Wagner College in Staten Island, where she is majoring in musical theater. "It's great exposure."

Horne picked "There's a Fine, Fine Line," a challenging tune from the Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q for her audition and spent Thursday afternoon rehearsing and the evening watching the Broadway production.

Viewers can log onto www.cbsnews.com to vote for their favorite performers. Voting begins at 9 a.m. Friday after The Early Show and ends at midnight. The winner will be revealed Monday, and will perform a song from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

The grand prize is a spot in the chorus of a Broadway musical.

"It's going to be a tough weekend," Horne said. "It's hard sitting around just waiting."

Even if she doesn't get the part now, Horne believes she's Broadway-bound.

"I've always had a love for music," Horne said. "I was lucky to go to a big high school and the productions they put on every year are great."

As a freshman at Camden Catholic High School in Cherry Hill, Horne landed a speaking role on the long-running ABC soap opera All My Children.

Last year, Horne's senior year there, she played the title role in the school's production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita.
