An exhibition of figure sculpture will open in the Wagner Gallery of the Union Building on Thursday, Aug. 28. Exhibitors are students in a sculpting class that has been meeting each Saturday morning in the Main Hall ceramics studio for the past 5 years under the auspices of Wagner College's External Programs Department.
The work is done in clay from a live model, and each pose lasts for a month. It is an unaccredited class that is open to anyone who is interested in the figure. The class is extremely relaxed and welcomes students at all levels of artistic ability.
The artists in this show are Robert Bunkin, Marie Carapella, Pat De Cicco, Joyce Malerba Goldstein, Tony Richichi, Allen Silberman, Marjorie Waxman and Marc Zimetbaum, the organizer of the class.
The opening reception will be held on Sunday, Sept. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. The show will run through Thursday, Sept. 25. Regular gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Thursdays from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.
