Wagner College history seminar, exhibition, Sept. 12

Please join Dr. Lori Weintrob, chair of the History Department, for a seminar on the history of Wagner College to be held on Friday, Sept. 12 at 3 p.m. in the main room of the Horrmann Library. Four panelists will present their research on the college’s history and answer questions from the audience.

The research to be presented at Friday’s seminar has been published in a new book, “Wagner College: Four Histories,” which will be on sale for $8 after the seminar. Copies of the book can also be downloaded (free) or purchased (at cost) through the Wagner College online storefront.

Following Friday’s seminar, stick around for a reception that will kick off an exhibition in the library’s Spotlight Gallery. “Founding Faces & Places: An Exhibition of Images from the Wagner College Archives” will be on display through Founders Day, Oct. 15. The exhibition contains more than 70 images and interpretive panels that visually tell the story of Wagner College’s early history in Rochester, N.Y. and Staten Island from the mid-19th century until the Great Depression.
