Panel discussion to examine Staten Island's future, Sept. 16

    Wagner College will host “Staten Island Now: Partnerships in Economic Development,” a panel discussion led by Wagner President Richard Guarasci, on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. in Spiro Hall, Room 2. The public is invited. There is no admission charge.
    Panelists will be:

  • Jay Anderson, Director of Services, Staten Island Economic Development Corporation
  • Jonathan Bowles, Director, Center for an Urban Future
  • Kamillah Hanks, Executive Director of Downtown Staten Island Council, and Steering Committee Co-chair of A Vision for Staten Island

    Among the topics to be addressed in this discussion are North Shore vs. South Shore resources/opportunities, the role of city and state government vs. private business, environmental issues, comparisons of Port Richmond, Park Hill/Stapleton and St. George priorities, residential density, and the role of the three colleges in creating partnerships and as employers.
