Welcome to Wagner College. I am delighted to welcome you to the Wagner College website. I am very proud of our students, faculty and staff and feel certain that you will understand why as you learn more about Wagner College, its programs, and its future.
As you navigate this website you will learn more about our nationally acclaimed undergraduate program and our six graduate programs. We strive to achieve academic excellence throughout each of our academic programs. Academic excellence at Wagner includes deep understanding of content areas and disciplines as well as ability for each student to think critically, to communicate clearly, and to civically engage in issues that have ethical and global perspectives.
The Wagner Plan for the Practical Liberal Arts, our signature curricular program for undergraduate students, emphasizes integrated learning and reflective practice supplemented by experiential placements within the community, the region, and internationally.
Similarly, our graduate programs in accounting, business administration, education, nursing, microbiology, and physician assistant studies emphasize leadership and academic excellence in contexts outside the classroom.
You will see that we are located on the historic New York Harbor with a stunning view of Manhattan. Wagner College is located on Grymes Hill on Staten Island, which is the most residential of New York City’s five boroughs. Our 1800 plus undergraduate students come from all over the United States and over a dozen international locations. Over 80% of our undergraduate students live in our residence halls.
You will find that the faculty at Wagner are deeply dedicated to teaching and advising our students as well as pursuing scholarship in their disciplines. The principal mission of the Wagner administration is to support the educational programs of the College, the work of the faculty, and the learning of our students. My responsibility, as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, is to oversee this process, which is as inherently rewarding as it is challenging.
