I. Educational Excellence

  1. Deepen The Wagner Plan for the Practical Liberal Arts by:
    • Increasing the learning outcomes of Wagner students in core areas of knowledge acquisition, effective communication and problem solving;
    • Increasing student learning outcomes in integrating field work, classroom instruction and applied learning;
    • Increasing size of full time faculty and rebalance responsibilities of faculty to meet educational goals of The Wagner Plan;
    • Enhancing and sustaining the effective use of information technology;
    • Institutionalizing the use of effective learning outcomes assessment;
  2. Increase the scholarly development and professional profile of the Wagner faculty through a sustained program of support for scholarly work;
  3. Invest in educational technology development and assure campus wide use of technology to enhance learning and scholarship;
  4. Continue to increase both the academic quality and overall diversity of the student body; and increase professional credentials and diversity of faculty and administration;
  5. Further expand the international perspective of the undergraduate curriculum and education experience;
  6. Continue to develop civic awareness as one of our educational competencies;
  7. Expand the focus, size and standards of the Graduate Program;
  8. Adjust the compensation in support of faculty and staff to meet national benchmarks for liberal arts and comprehensive institutions.

II. Resource Enhancement and Management

  1. Increase the permanent College endowment, initially to match the accumulated debt, and then to significantly eclipse it;
  2. Increase the Annual Fund and the level of alumni participation;
  3. Establish and significantly increase the level of annual support from educational foundations and corporations;
  4. Develop an External Program plan which capitalizes on the strengths of the College (location, facility, progress) to increase the annual revenue from alternative sources without compromising the educational mission of the College;
  5. Implement a long-term (multi-year) financial management plan.

III. Institutional Reputation

  1. Establish Wagner College as a national institution with a reputation for educational excellence as a unique and residential urban liberal arts college;
  2. Significantly deepen and extend the admissions recruitment for undergraduate and graduate enrollment;
  3. Develop and reinforce our image in every aspect of communication.

IV. Facilities Improvement

  1. Increase and modernize instructional spaces;
  2. Improve student residence spaces and systems;
  3. Develop and implement a plan for better utilization and modernization of staff and faculty throughout the campus;
  4. Reduce deferred maintenance to a sustainable industry wide quotient;
  5. Establish a sustainable program of preventative maintenance;
  6. Improve handicapped accessibility and safety guidelines;
  7. Significantly improve the effectiveness and security of the College’s administrative and educational operation technology systems.
